The Yosemite Climbing Association

For decades, the Yosemite Climbing Association (YCA) has led the charge in protecting the history of climbing in Yosemite. From their work as the organizers of the annual Yosemite Facelift cleanup event, to the construction and operation of the Yosemite Climbing Museum, all of the important work that the YCA staff and volunteers do is made possible by its supporters.

Learn more about the YCA below, or to find out more, visit https://www.yosemiteclimbing.org/

In 2004, founder and president of the YCA, Ken Yager, started Yosemite Facelift, an annual cleanup event that has gained worldwide recognition for raising awareness about stewardship in Yosemite National Park. In recent years, Facelift has expanded to other important areas.

In 2020, the YCA opened the Yosemite Climbing Museum, where artifacts and photographs from over a century worth of climbing history are displayed. Visitors from around the world have the opportunity to see rare artifacts and learn about the rich history of climbing in Yosemite from its staff and volunteers. The YCA also works closely with the National Park Service climbing rangers and other organizations to continue the spirit of stewardship and cooperation between the NPS and the climbing community.
